This is a primary hybrid cross of 2 Paphiopedilum species, rothschildianum X the relatively newly discovered malipoense, named Paphiopedilum Harold Koopowitz. Though rothschildianum is a knockout with multiple very large flowers and horizontal petals about a foot across.
Malipoense is rounded, pale greenish yellow with small burgundy spots. It also has a raspberry fragrance, singly flowered, with a very large bulbous lip.
