Location
On the ferry to the iconic Statue of Liberty in New York. A four day trip from the UK with my two daughters in Dec' 2018.Time
This was taken in the afternoon at 2pm on the 11th DecLighting
The Sun was behind me, and being winter, was relatively low so I don't think too harsh.Equipment
I am an amateur and had my Nikon D5300 with my 18-55mm kit lens set at 18mm, 1/500 sec, f/11 and circular polariser.Inspiration
One can't go to New York without visiting the Statue of Liberty. We had been on a bus tour which ended at the ferry station. The water was pretty calm and as we headed and began swing round to the dock this view was amazing and I wanted to have a memory to take home of the size and scale of both the Statue and the City.Editing
Cropped to give a bit more of a panoramic feel. Needed a tweak to straighten it. Played with the levels and contrast. In my camera bag
As an amateur I tend to keep everything in the bag. So camera, 18-55 kit lens, 55-200 kit lens, Neweer flash, an couple of ND filters and spare batteries.Feedback
Like all things they say preparation is the key, but sometimes you have to be lucky. We were there for that time only and had super weather to catch this shot.
