These are a plant called Ghost Pipes(aka Indian Pipes). Although thought of by many to be a type of fungi, these little beautys are in fact a flower with spectacular medicinal properties and are steeped in mystery and Native American Myth. The inspiration for the title of this photo I have taken from such. The Cherokee tell a story of how these hauntingly beautiful flowers came to be, i have included the link to a summarized version. These delicate ghostly rarities of the forest have become a fascination of mine, both in an artistic manner as well as the phenomenal medicinal aspect of them.
