One of the new generation of 'flat lip' Phalaenopsis hybrids, originally stemming from a mutation that years ago would have been tossed, now being saved and bred for its commercial value. At the extreme, they can look as if the lip is just another petal and at first I didn't like 'flat lips' at all because instead of looking like an orchid, they looked just like any other flower. Lately, however, the mutation has been diluted to tone it down and they present the orchid characteristics of a modified 5th petal, while still showing its interesting and at times beautiful mutation.
