Wildflower super bloom summer 2023. Taken while hiking in Little Cottonwood Canyon near Alta and the Albion Basin Meadow. This is along the trail that starts at the Wildcat base and runs along Collins Gulch trail. For anyone visiting northern Utah during wildflower season this is a must see trail to hike. It runs from Wildcat, through Collins Gulch and into the Albion Basin Meadow which is full of magnificent wildflowers usually from mid July through most of August. It was a late start this year due to the heavy snow there this past winter so didn't hit peak until late July and was still going strong the end of August. Even for those who are unable to make the hike you can pay the National Park fee (it's $10) and drive up to the Catherine Pass trailhead that overlooks the Albion Basin Meadow and walk the relatively easy trail through the Meadow. Well worth the effort and fee to see this spectacular show of nature.
