Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken of the side of the Marshall, MN Hold Redeemer Catholic Church.Time
The sun was going down during Autumn.Lighting
I wanted to take this during the Golden Hour, giving a nice soft golden glow and extending the shadows.Equipment
Canon Rebel T3iInspiration
I love stained glass windows and this one had a nice leading line towards it. The stairs paralleled the window nicely and the flora brightened the image and added a different texture.Editing
I softened the image in Lightroom to give it a dreamy and surreal feel. I vignetted the window and the end of the leading line to draw attention to the window, and lightened and sharpened the flora to add contrast. In my camera bag
I normally only bring one camera and maybe another lens to swap. I'm still a student so I am learning and experimenting.Feedback
I would try to keep an eye out for interesting textures, contrasts, as well as lighting and leading lines.
