Behind The Lens

Location

This is from the part of Sweden where I grow up. It's a national park called Store Mosse. The park is a great bog in Småland. Nearest city is Värnamo.

Time

Me and my wife was visiting my mother. All thou the weather forecast was not so promising when we went for a hike. At was at noon when we came out on the big open area with the trail out to a small lake.

Lighting

The cloudy sky offered a fairly soft light. It was shoot with 1/250 sec, ISO 200 and aperture 5.

Equipment

I have my Panasonic Lumix DMC-G80 with my Lumix G-vario 12-60 lens. This picture is take at 12 mm.

Inspiration

The lonely small pine trees fighting to survive in the wet ground. There is some beauty in there struggle.

Editing

I always shoot in raw. So in the case a added contrast to bring out the sky. Some clarity to sharpen the details and a bit of a twist on the colors. Then I also added some noise to get a feeling of a painting.

In my camera bag

I have my Panasonic Lumix DMC-G80. My four Lumix lenses, G Vario 12-60 mm, 45-150 mm, 12-32 mm and a G 25 mm. I also have a set of close-up lenses for macro photos. When it comes to filters there is one ND-8 filter and one CPL filter in the bag. Some spare batteries, a cloth and one crystal ball is also nice to have in the bag.

Feedback

Think of the composition go down low to get some foreground. And take advance of some "bad" weather to get a soft light.
