Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from the Marienbrücke bridge overlooking the historic part of Dresden.

Time

It was a warm summer evening, the end of "blue hour", around 10pm.

Lighting

I wanted to took this image at blue hour when the buildings are highlighted.

Equipment

This photo was taken with Nikon Z6 II and 24-120mm lenses. A tripod and 4-stops ND filter was used to get a long exposure.

Inspiration

I like when the buildings are highlighted. This creates a festive atmosphere in the city and makes the buildings stand out against the dark sky.

Editing

I usually process raw files in Capture One. In this photo I corrected exposure, shadows/highlights, clarity, white balance and decreased the saturation of blue colour.

In my camera bag

Usually I take my Nikon Z6 II with travel lens 24-120mm. If I plan to take photos at night or with long exposures, I take tripod and set of ND filters (16, 100 and 1000). Also I have ultra wide lens 14-30mm which help me to capture wide photos of landscapes or architecture.

Feedback

Nothing special. Just go to Dresden, find the Marienbrücke bridge (it is close to the historical center) and take a shot at proper time.
