Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on Garda Lake at the beginning of springtime 2023.

Time

I went there in the late afternoon waiting for sunset time. I realized that the sunset should not have been one of the best on the lake but the colours were so "soft" that I couldn't stop taking photos.

Lighting

I like taking photos of piers because they attract all your eyes to infinity. The pier, the tree on the left side and the soft colours of the sky gave the perfect mood I was looking for .... a romantic mood for a sunset on the lake.

Equipment

This was shot with my old Fujifilm X-T1 with a 10-20 mm f/4 lens. I used a polarizing filter and a tripod.

Inspiration

Sunsets on Garda Lake are really so beautiful and I love this place (San felice del Benaco) because of its peace and tranuillity (except during Summer!).

Editing

I used two raws files, one for the foreground and the background and one for the lights on the pier. I used Photoshop to process the raws files and to combine them.

In my camera bag

My Fujifilm X-T5, a 10-24 mm lens, a 18-55 mm lens, a 55-200 mm lens and my last one 100-400 mm lens. I always have my polarization filters and ND filters.

Feedback

If you are on Garda Lake and if you love taking pictures of sunsets, the " the veronese" side is the best one with wonderful landscapes.
