Lubec, Maine is so far East that there's been conversation about changing the time zone. Down-East Maine is beautiful and pristine. Make no mistake that the climate can make it a harsh environment. The men and women that go to sea to fish for lobster are hardy. They're up and out before the sun crossed the horizon and when the lobsters crawl, will walk into their homes when it's dark out. Coming from a fishing family, I find serenity in seeing this fleet on the mooring on a Sunday. It means that everyone is home and safe. Maine the way life should be.
