Just across the road from my flat. Poppies were growing at the base of a wall. You could the whole life-cycle, some in bud, some in full flower & others going over. I like looking closely at plants, especially their centers, and this Poppy had it in spades.. At 75 years old, I just enjoy the natural world, and through the lens of my camera.Time
Mid day in May, with a warm sunLighting
For lighting I always prefer SSL (Sol System Lighting). I love working with it when I can.Equipment
I have an old Nikon D80, bought secondhand. Folks tell me to upgrade, but it does what I want it to do. An internationally well known Photographer, sadly now departed, told me that the camera doesn't take the photo, our eyes do. And to prove his point, he bought a£5 throw-away camera from Boots, took the same photos with his Hasselblad & the throw-away, processed them the same, and then asked me which was which. I couldn't, nor could his friends. This was back in the '80s.Inspiration
My love for Mother Nature. Friends say I'm Her Photographer.Editing

Not being a pro, I don't walk around with a penis-extension tube lens. All I have is my 18-70mm, a 70-300mm & a 10-20mm, all Nikon,Feedback
Seeing & Looking are two different actions. We see with our eyes and we look with our mind. So don't just see a plant, look at it, see what it can give you, what the light is like, what angle to take the shot. As I have said, I'm no professional. I just love photographing Mother Nature's Flora. She has the finest palette. You can not beat Her colours.
