Liminality is a state of transition between two stages, a movement through space and time. In this project the captured moment of the camera is the intermediate link between photographer and subject. The series is also an expression of hopelessness, tormented home-longing, and a realization that nothing can subdue either the moment, time, or space. It reflects the short time between life and death or between sleep and awakening, and the psychical, emotional, and metaphorical transitions that occur in life. Some details may make viewers uncomfortable, although this is a manifestation of essence. Roots are symbol of connection, they are like veins for the enigmatic transformations of contents and forms, unfolding in the liminal spaces between the 'outside world' and the 'world inside where our memory is on the move. They are the reflection of nostalgia and sadness that comes from the liminal and serves to elicit responses of both comfort and unease.
