I actually watched this caterpillar develop into a butterfly after its natural process of taking measures to instinctually developing into its chrysalis stage then ultimately freeing itself and transforming into a butterfly. I placed it in a recycled glass candle jar with wholes I drilled in top. I provided it with the same leaves that it originally was attracted to. After approximately 2 weeks, it was time to be set free. Upon opening the lid, full of a new found energy and purpose it did not hesitate to fly and acclimate itself to the outdoors. Very cool to watch.
