Behind The Lens
Location
Wellington, South Africa - a place that balanced both beauty and destruction. - A new era look and feel.Time
This was a waiting game and the wait was well worth it - it was shot at about 16:45 when the sun was just right to create my desired effect.Lighting
Use lens flaring and natural shadows to your advantage. sometimes the sun plays to create the right feeling - both warm and cold.Equipment
This shot was taken on my Canon 5D Mk 4, 24-70mm f2.8 Tamron and on my trusted Manfrotto Tripod - oh and don't forget my Circular polarising filter.Inspiration
I wanted to bring 3 eras of vehicles in a setting where it brought the feeling of age, life and the feeling of beauty among the wreck.Editing
Slight image alignment and soft editing in Lightroom CCIn my camera bag
In my camera bag is usually the following: Canon 5D mk4 Canon 17-35mm f2.8 USM Canon 50mm f1.4 Tamron 24-70mm f2.8Feedback
Don't be afraid to wait out the time for the best lighting, also try various angles. Remember to experiment and don't be shy to try new techniques. Don't always rely of artificial light, use the sun! Also try various lenses, apertures and get creative. There is no right or wrong way, at the end of the day its all about challenging ourselves, and no matter the outcome, keep improving and shooting!
