This green turtle (black turtle or Pacific green turtle) came in from the deep blue sea while I was snorkling in the Maldives last week ... I was privileged to watch it settle in the plants at the bottom, where he seemed to be scratching himself against the plants, with his eyes halfway closed in a calm, relaxed state. Then it dived deeper into the plants, no idea why, it might have found something to eat, but I did not notice that. After a while, it turned around and slowly started swimming back into the open sea, less than 2 meters from me. I followed at a respectful distance to give it space to not feel threatened. It went up for 5 gulps of air, and then swam away. It's shell was incredible, the rays of the sun hitting it brightly, like in a dream ... I was blown away.
