Location
This photo was taken at the Norddeutschland heap in Neukirchen-Vluyn, North Rhine-WestphaliaTime
We decided to play with steel wool, light and colors again, so that in the late afternoon we made the arduous journey up to the hall house on the heap with all kinds of luggageLighting
since the hall building was not illuminated, we used our strong flashlight with which we illuminated the scaffolding in blue, then drew the spiral with steel wool and painted the colored waves in the foreground with a lightsaber.Equipment
i used nikon d7100, sigma 10-20mm, rollei stative.Inspiration
I always find it impressive what can emerge from a moment. i love seeing the fire, lights and colors glow in the dark as they are much more intense. bringing in my own creativity, trying things out and of course having fun with photography made me go up the steep slope after exploring the place via wiki and google maps.Editing
I shot in raw format and I didn't change much in the picture. raised the colors a little bit, reduced the lights a little and brightened the dark areas a little. In my camera bag
when i'm on the road "animal catching" i have the sigma 150-500mm DG APO HSM on my nikon d7100 which i like to use. for landscape or just like here for light painting I have the sigma 10-20mm. and if i come across a flower or something small and interesting, the sigma 105mm macro comes into play. the tripod from rollei c6i carbon supports me.Feedback
for this type of photography, especially with steel wool, you should take a good look at the weather beforehand. strong wind e.g. could drive the sparks into dry grass and start a fire etc. that's why we either go to places where nothing can happen. we also don't go out in hot summers, but only when the ground allows it.
