Location
I took this photo while going for a walk starting from Point Lonsdale and heading towards Queenscliff, Victoria, Australia.Time
It was in the afternoon, may be around 3:30-4pmLighting
It was a beautiful clear day, nothing exceptional about the lighting.Equipment
I used my Nikon D5500 with a 18-200mm lens, which has become my favourite as I can do wide angle shots as well as zoom in - without carrying 2 different lenses.Inspiration
I just thought it would make a nice photo.Editing
I use ON1 for my post-edits. At the time I took the photo, I thought it would be a nice one. But when I got home and looked at it, I found different. I tried various post -processing approaches to make the photo pop, but to no avail. I then tried some of their presets and found one I really liked, which is the one I used to make the photo. I should say that it is a composite photo in that I also changed the sky to make the photo pop even more.In my camera bag
I have too many items in my bag to list. I carry my camera bag in the car and clean the lens of the camera before I leave the car and go for a 'normal' walk. I don't carry the camera bag with me. However, when I go trekking, I carry a lens cleaner, a spare battery and a spare SD card in another bag- just in case.Feedback
I guess I have 3 words of advice there: 1. take lots of photos as you never know which ones are going to work and which ones won't. 2. experiment with post-edits, and try different presets in your post-edit program. Some will change a blend photo into one that will work, as in my case. 3. Just changing the sky can make a photo instantly pop. There is a discussion as to whether this is ethical or not, but I do know that, for some of my photos, just changing the sky made a huge difference.
