Behind The Lens

Location

This is taken at Lake Tyrrell, a salt lake in Victoria, Australia. The lake is renowned for its reflections and draws many tourists. I was lucky enough to have a seagull walk by as I was photographing the sunset.

Time

Golden hour photos can be so special and this is one.

Lighting

Golden hour is always great if you can get the right setting.

Equipment

I shot this on a Canon EOS800 with a Tamron 18-400 lens.

Inspiration

We have stayed twice now at Lake Tyrell to shoot sunrise and sunset photos and this second time was the most successful.

Editing

A bit of contrast and lightening the bird was needed.

In my camera bag

Camera, tripod, 18-400 lens, 100mm macro, 10-18 lens and 10mm for astrophotography.

Feedback

Salt lakes are great places for photography, wet or dry.
