The four lions of Trafalgar Square are a popular tourist attraction in London. Situated at the base of Nelson's Column, they were designed by Sir Edwin Landseer and erected in 1867. The bronze lions are approximately 11 feet tall and weigh around 7 tons each. They are a symbol of strength and power, and have become an iconic part of Trafalgar Square's landscape. Despite their popularity, many people are unaware that the lions were not originally intended to be part of the monument, and were only added later as decorative features.
