Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my flower garden, in the afternoon, following an ice storm.

Time

Following the ice storm, I decided to take my camera and do a walk about on my property. This was taken at 12:18 p.m.

Lighting

It was natural lighting on an overcast day, nothing really special about the lighting.

Equipment

For this photo I used my Nikon Z5 with an 85mm lens.

Inspiration

I decided to take my camera and walk around my property after the ice storm and I was just drawn to the way the icicles were hanging from the solar powered garden light.

Editing

I do tend to post edit with some basic fine tuning such as contrast and I did add a bit of warmth to this one and dropped the exposure a tiny bit just because I do like the dark & moody style.

In my camera bag

I tend to carry my Nikon Z5 with the 85mm on the camera and I have a 35mm that I carry along, as well.

Feedback

My only advice is to be willing to go for a walk with your camera, regardless of the weather. Interesting subjects can be found almost anywhere at anytime, in any type of weather. At the time that I took this photo, I had convinced myself that I had nothing, locally, to photograph.....Wow, how wrong I was!
