Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Pismo when I traveled with my family for the 4th of July. I am a self taught photographer and I just love capturing images that give a sense of calm and this view was absolutely gorgeous in person and I wanted to capture the moment to save for memories later on in life.

Time

This was taken towards the end of the day around sunset and I managed to capture the perfect moment with a bird flying around the horizon and this cute couple enjoying the sunset together and I remember being so filled with joy after taking this photo.

Lighting

I didn’t do much about the lighting since the sun was setting perfectly and I just wanted to capture the moment so that I could sit and enjoy it before it was over.

Equipment

I’m not a professional and I don’t have a professional camera so I used my iPhone to capture this photo and edited it a bit with the iPhone settings to make it a little brighter and have more vivid colors which is how a usually like my photos to have very vivid and eye catching colors since those are the kinds of photos that bring a smile to my face.

Inspiration

When I got to the top of the hill to see the view, I just remember a feeling of joy and happiness filling my whole body along with a sense of calm so I captured this moment to have with me to look back on whenever I want to feel calm and joyful when it is feeling hard to do so.

Editing

For this photo, all I did was edit it to make the colors more bright and vivid but I didn’t want to take away from the natural beauty that was already in front of me to enjoy.

In my camera bag

I’m not a professional so I don’t really carry equipment with me besides for my phone, my sunglasses since I use those as a filter on my phone camera sometimes, and I bring my Polaroid with me as well too.

Feedback

The only advice I have since I’m not really a professional photographer is to take pictures of anything that feels beautiful to you and makes you smile since everyone’s idea of beauty is different and you never know how much joy your photo might bring to another person and make their day.
