Location
This was taken at the River Bend Ranch in Durango, Colorado.Time
The Narrow Gauge train that travels throughout Silverton and Durango passes by this venue and the couple wanted their portrait with the train. This was taken around 5:45 in the evening.Lighting
The sun was just setting over the mountains in this Durango village creating a gorgeous glow on the rocks above. This left the soft light to capture the newlywed couple perfectly.Equipment
This was shot on the Nikon D750 with 50mm lens.Inspiration
I was second shooting this wedding and the lead was taking a fast still and I wanted to show the movement of the train passing by. I knew to attempt this, I needed to lower my shutter speed but keep my hands steady and to tell the couple to stay steady as well!Editing
I actually adjusted the white balance a little bit, the image raw came out beautifully! Didn't need a lot!In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon Z7ii and D750 with a speedlight and other off-camera flashes for indoor settings. My lenses that I always have with me are my 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 70-200mm. However my 50mm is my favorite!Feedback
Keep a steady hand or have a tripod for this kind of shot. Tell the subject to not move in order for the movement behind them to be blurred. I dropped my ISO to 50, with my shutter speed at 1/13 and my aperture at 5.6.
