Location
This photo was taken at Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. There's a beautiful little spot just outside the national park where the waves are always small, so it's a hit for beginner surfers. I was sitting on a rocky cliff surrounded by people vibing with the surf and sun.Time
The photo was taken at sunset after a beautiful summers day.Lighting
I let nature do the talking with the colour and lighting. There was about a five minute window where this beautiful vibrant sky was reflecting off the water. No external lighting was used, it all came from the setting sun.Equipment
This was shot on a Lumix S5 with a Lumix 85mm kit lens. No filters, tripods or flashes were used.Inspiration
This was the first day I took my new camera out on the town. I was playing around with my new telephoto zoom lens, taking action shots of all the surfers as they passed me. Once the sun started to set I noticed how the colours were getting more and more vibrant so I switched to a wider lens. I took a lot of photos of that sunset, but this one just took the cake with those two surfers admiring it from the water.Editing
This photo was shot in raw, but because of how vibrant the colours were it really only needed minimal processing. I make it my mission to process my images to as close to real life as I can.In my camera bag
Depending on where I'm taking my camera I usually have a 20-70, 85 and 100-400mm lens with me. I have multiple filters to help with exposure and polarising, a tripod that almost never gets used except on long exposure shots, and all the essential cleaning gear (I spend a lot of time on sand!)Feedback
Find where the locals go. The best sunsets here are during summer, but you can never tell if it will be a good one until you're experiencing it... so always be at the ready!
