In Decree 13, I, Mário Vasa, walked several kilometers between my home and work.
Chance dictated that on March 13, 2020, I would record a weather phenomenon that has become the symbol of hope, already irony, dictated that on the way to work, an LED billboard on the highway would send you home.
Between these two metaphors, I report a set of relative moments of the images that a collective alert made us see in an anxious and systematic way.
The difference is that these images offer us time.
A common perception of the shortcoming of design is that photography slows down time and offers us, as we accept, space to reflect. We live in a time of democratization and exaltation of the photographic image, but also of its fleeting and inconsequential.
