Location
The photo was taken from a decorated Christmas Tree in December 2022.Time
It was taken on a wintery dusky evening in December 2022. This is perhaps one of my favorite images in the #ChristmasMacro collection. I remember holding up the camera posing the décor and trying to focus on the core of the décor and some highlights.Lighting
I wanted this image to show the sparkles of light on the ornament with light-dark regions reflecting the ups and downs in life, yet the lights, the Tree, and the mesh represented the festivity's joy and cheerfulness which brings hope. The darker background adds drama, completing the whole story and drawing the viewer into the scene.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony ?6000, with an E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS Lens, no flash, and ISO 1250. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
Each décor of the Christmas Tree is unique and has its beauty. I wanted to capture it and show the world what I saw.Editing
I cropped the image with a 1:1 ratio and balanced the light slightly to enhance the mood.In my camera bag
I always pack my Sony ?6000, which is my favorite camera. All my lens to capture a wide angle to macro shots. A lens cleaning kit (as often outdoor shoots get unpredictable). Some energy bars and a coffee mug keep me nourished and focused.Feedback
I am an Autodidact Photographer, and I learn from every picture I take. My views and what I learned... To capture a macro shot, specifically with a subject containing different light and shadow regions, you must have patience and spend more time composing the story to draw the viewer’s attention. As everything is in a magnified view, plan, take your time to compose the shot, and love what you see in it. Macro photos show the unadmired beauty of everything that cannot be seen in general.
