Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken right outside my Grandfather's home stand. We had just arrived to their place after a 5 hour road trip. I'm a teenage photographer, I'm still learning to be a professional this is one of my favorite shot.

Time

As I stated in the previous question, this has to be one of my favorite shots. I remember how tired, my family and I were after that whole 5 hour drive to my grandparents' home stand. We started our around 5 am in the morning, arriving around 10 am. While examining the area, in the effort to find something nice to test my photography skills I caught sight of a mango tree with three mangoes just sticking out. This was on the 28th of December 2022, just a couple days after Christmas.

Lighting

It was a sunny day, being in Zimbabwe just when summer started. The sun was shining, almost near the mango tree, just enough for me to capture the expression of myimagination.

Equipment

this was shot with a Fujifilm S1800 with a 5.0 to 90.0mm f/5.6 lens. No equipment was used.

Inspiration

I honestly was going to a farm, at first I wanted to find animals fo take images of, there was a change of heart though, I thought that I could do something more than taking pictures of animals, maybe something simpler. After thinking of the saying "less is more" I was inspired to just simply take a picture of mangoes, not really thinking it would come out as great as it should because this image was taken without my trusty tripod.

Editing

Yes, this was the first image I post processed after being able to find a way to upload the images onto my laptop. I used the brush mask so that I can increase the lighting and exposure of the mangoes so that they can stand out.

In my camera bag

The first thing I pack is my Fujifilm Finepix S1800, that my father had bought for me from a second hand store. Then I pack my lightweigh LASA 135cm travel stand that I bought off Takealot.com, it it very handy and durable and also quite affordable.

Feedback

if you see an opportunity to capture a great image, just do it. Do not wait for anyone to tell you what to do, this is your world, the world is your canvas.
