This image reminds me of a kororwai (cloak), it enveloping whatever it contains.

A walk through our botanic gardens as the sun is going down, exposes the oddest of things.

I couldn't believe my luck when I pulled the lower petals apart.

Location

This photo is taken in Dargaville of the Wairoa River as I taking a walk one morning.

Time

This was an early morning photo, I took my tripod and headed out in the town centre along the river.

Lighting

An early morning where the weather wasn't sure which way it was going to turn. The sun shining through the cloud clearing.

Equipment

Nikon Z5 and tripod.

Inspiration

I liked the way the clouds were forming and the sun was coming through over the river.

Editing

I used the colours of the sky for the Wairoa river as it has a clay sediment colour. Early in the morning it does look blue however in this image I've colour matched it to the sky.

In my camera bag

Nikon Z5, remote shutter, tripod, since this image was taken I now also have my wide angle lens and prime lens.
