Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the gardens of a retirement home in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Time

The photo was taken in the morning just before lunch.

Lighting

It was a perfect day for natural light- overcast skies alway give lovely soft lighting.

Equipment

I use my Canon 600D with a kit lens.

Inspiration

It was my friend's father's 90th birthday. She wanted an image that would tell a love story- of a 70 year romance

Editing

I desaturated as I felt that black and white would work really well, and increased the contrast a bit to bring out the detail

In my camera bag

My Canon of course, my kit lenses that need to be upgraded, and sometimes my Sigma 150-600

Feedback

Take lots of photos. Remove anything that doesn't belong. Don't be afraid of showing wrinkles and age spots because those are earned and tell thir own story
