One of 3 photos that I took of this star soccer player for his senior photos. I was hoping to create an in game type kick which I felt this was as close as you could get. I often take my dynamic images during golden and blue hours for a colorful backdrop.Lighting
Using a westcott fj400w and a westcott Fj 200 to light my subject with cross lighting as to achieve a stadium effect with a dramatic feel.Equipment
Cross lighting 45 degree to subject, 2 Westcott strobes. 28 inch Soft box with grids.. Sony A7RIV with Sony A-Mount GM Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8 with LA-EA5 converter handheld shotInspiration
Because I love soccer and I love dynamic portraits combining both with an athlete who is a great model it made this shoot so relaxed and enjoyable.Editing
Very minimal post processing, only a little light adjustments. My goal is to get everything correct in camera. In my camera bag
Sony bodies mainly a mount Sony lenses used with LA-EA5 converter, but I have a Tamron 85mm prime and Sigma 70-180mm that are quality lens’Feedback
Strobes are the key to low light dynamic portraits or athletic action portraits so you can freeze the action at high shutter speed with an aperture setting around 4-4.5 to help get the entire subject in focus and get your exposure set before you light your subject when using strobe.
