This is my friend Lauren Mayhew, pretty well known Dj in my area , whenever she is in town she invites me out to shoot her gigs, this was takin in an Italian restaurant she was DJ’ing atTime
I believe i was super late to this event maybe had like 10-20 minutes to shoot. The event started around 3 i think i got there 4:30 because I’m always late lol. Whenever i see Lauren i just pull out my camera and start shooting. The reaction i get from her when she initially spots me is so genuine i always try catching it. Lauren’s energy is so addicting i love taking her pictures. So easy she really knows how to express herself doesn’t hold back one bit.Lighting
All natural lighting. This was my first week of using the RF 85mm f1.2 so i took it everywhere with me. Not ideal lens to shoot indoor but if you stand back a tad you can create some beautiful portraits with it . Again not ideal lens for close spacesEquipment
Canon eos rp with the a RF 85mm f1.2 nothing else was used. I have now upgraded to the R6 and love it.Inspiration
I love taking pictures of people, this day so happened we were shooting Lauren. I was on a difficult lens to shoot with indoor because of focal length i had to get creative.Editing
I edit with light room and photoshop but for this pic nothings but color adjustments were made the streak that goes through the picture is actually a pole in front of her but because I’m shooting at a f1.2 aperture the pole just kinda disappears as the lens kept focus on Lolo’s face. I do believe i shot with manual focus in order to get so close with rf 85 mmIn my camera bag
I usually have my rf 35mm 1.8! That is my go to lens with my canon r6 body. I also keep a canon 50mm 1.4 and 75-300mm f4 And EFS 18-135mmFeedback
Spray and pray with good timing . Get familiar with the way your subject moves and hold down the shutter button when there in peak positions. Iused memory like a tool Ofcourse your not going to use every image, but a high shutter speed and a continuous shot can freeze some magical moments during your sessions .
