I took this photo in France in a convention called "Geek Faeries" at Selles-sur-Cher.Time
It was during the afternoon.Lighting
When you're looking for good portraits, it's better to find some spots with a soft light like under the trees, or using your reflector with the white side in order to decrease the brightness of your subject.Equipment
I used my panasonic LumixFZ48 and a reflector, and that's all !Inspiration
As a big fan of Medieval Fantasy, I love to find inspirations with some warriors artworks showing them on a battlefield or at the end of the day with an epic sunset. The Sisters Repentia are used to be on some battlefields with a desolation atmosphere, but, I decided to make a big contrast with a forest and some stones on the ground.Editing
Yes, I used Photoshop. I made some adjustments on the global lighting and colors, I worked on the props too, I wanted to give them a better contrast and highlight the texture on the differents parts of the costumes which are amazing. I like to balance the color toward the blue in order to avoid any yellowish render. In my camera bag
I have my camera, a reflector and a LED light pannel.Feedback
When you want to capture someone or a character with a lot of power or strenght, use a low-angle shot to get this emotion. On the contrary, if you want to show some fragility, sensitivity, you could go for the high-angle shot. Thanks for reading ! :)
