Working six days a week doesn't allow me to spend as much time with photography and nature as I would like to, so most of my photos are taken in my own backyard. While getting ready for work one morning, I spotted this beautiful eastern gray squirrel enjoying some peanuts for breakfast and thankfully it allowed me to open my living room window and take a few photos.Time
This photo was taken at around 8:00 a.m. on December 31, 2020Lighting
We lose so much light in the winter months so it's not very bright outside at 8:00 in the morning. The setting I chose to compensate for the low light were Aperture ƒ/5.6 Shutter speed 1/128s ISO 400Equipment

Nature itself always inspires me. It is my escape, my peace, my joy. And I'm just very thankful to be able to capture that joy and share it with others through photography.Editing
The photo was cropped and it was still a little darker than I wanted so I added brightness and highlighting and just a little sharpeningIn my camera bag

Being a self taught photographer, I'm not sure that I'd be giving the right/correct advice but I will say that with wildlife photography it takes a lot of patience, persistence and practice. I sometimes sit for hours waiting to see what will show up at the bird feeders. With this photo, the opportunity presented itself when I least expected but my camera was charged and ready to go. It also helps to spend a lot of time with the wildlife in your own back yard. When you spend a lot of time caring for and feeding them, they become more comfortable with you being around and won't mind having a few photos taken.
