Location
The photo was taken at Ksi??nica Pomorska, the old library in Szczecin, Poland.Time
It was a late afternoon in a winter, so it was already pitch black outside.Lighting
It was quite a big corridor with a high ceiling. There was a whole bunch of beautiful chandeliers, so I added only one light for model's face.Equipment
Shot with Sony a6000 with a Sigma 60mm f2.8 DN Art lens, from hand, and a big LED panel on a tripod.Inspiration
Apart from taking a portrait of this beautiful young girl, I also wanted to make use of this beautiful place, which is an old library, full of nice big chandeliers.Editing
Postprocessing (apart from usual contrast etc. corrections) was a frequency split for a model's skin. It wasn't too much though, as model is a very young girl.In my camera bag
My personal must-haves in my bag are Sigma 30mm and 60mm, together with a flash TX and RX pair. The rest is dependent on a mood and the session itself. 80/85mm lens, even 135mm. Maybe a zoom. Also few old fashioned lens, for example Olympus F.Zuiko 50mm f1.8 or Minolta Rokkor-PF 55mm f1.7 - they're giving a beautiful image. Polarizing and ND filters for landscapes, of course.Feedback
For such semi-tight portraits, the key is an eye-catching reflection in pupils, it draws an immediate viewer's attention. If you put well lit eyes in a strong compositional point, it will be an instant winner :)
