Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo about an hours drive from my home. South Central Saskatchewan.

Time

This was taken late afternoon in the fall. The shorter days that time of the year so the sun was low already.

Lighting

I had low light from the overcast skies and low sun.

Equipment

This is a handheld photo taken with a Canon 6d Mark ii and a 18-35mm lens.

Inspiration

There are very few stone homes scattered across Saskatchewan. A friend of mine had come across the location in a article about Saskatchewan's Stone homes and sent me a link. It didn't take me long to hop in the truck for a backroad adventure.

Editing

I edited this photo using Lightroom and Camera Efex Pro.

In my camera bag

I tend to travel light with just my camera body and a couple of lens. Usually a 18-35 and a 24-70.

Feedback

It would be helpful to know the direction of the property before your arrive. Knowing the placement of the sun can help alot in planning the shot and the time of day you want to capture it.
