Behind The Lens

Location

St Nicholas Market, Bristol, Great Britain

Time

This photo was taken during golden hour in late winter this year.

Lighting

We were in an inside food hall with a glass ceiling surrounded by taller buildings which allowed the light to splinter through but remain soft.

Equipment

I used my Canon 7D with 17-55mm lens

Inspiration

My sister (photographed) took me out for coffee and cake and I wanted to try street portraits so I took my camera along for the ride. I was incredibly anxious and didn't really know what to photograph so I started with what I knew and who I knew, I looked across the table and started taking photos of her. This just so happened to be taken at a time when she was laughing and I love how her tattoo takes pride of place in the image.

Editing

In my camera bag

I always have my Canon 7D primed and ready with my go to 17-55mm lens

Feedback

Take as many photos as you can, and do it when your subject least expects it as well as photos they are ready for.
