Behind The Lens
Location
I took this Photo at the Toledo Ohio Air Show at the Toledo Express AirportTime
The shot was taken in the mid afternoon in JulyLighting
The lighting was great! there was a lot of smoke that added to the scene. The view was to the south so the sun was over my shoulder!Equipment
I used a Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera with a 17-50mm Sigma F2.8 Lens with a CPL and a lens hood. The shot was taken handheld.Inspiration
The air show was doing a re-enactment of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It was narrated as the planes swooped and the ground crews let off the charges. It was very loud and realistic.Editing
I did noise reduction, slight curve adjustment and cropping. In my camera bag
I try to travel light. Just the camera body (Nikons Z6), lens - depending on what I am shooting I usually carry one lens, lens cloth, CPL, lens hood, extra battery, extra memory card. I try to know what lens to use and sometimes will carry a longer lens or my 50mm prime depending on the shoot.Feedback
The Mirrorless is a little harder to follow the action. the shorter lens was helpful for tracking the planes. I also used a shorter lens because I was relatively close to the action and I wanted a wider shot to show the breadth of the smoke and fire with the planes swooping in and around the target.
