Location
I took this photo in my bedroom next to a south facing window. The window was to the right and a white bounce board covered in aluminum foil was to the left.Time
Mid-afternoon around 3pm. Sun and shade intervals made natural lighting difficult.Lighting
I don't normally shoot at that time of day because the lighting changes so quickly. However, I am very happy with how this turned out. It was my first time photographing macarons.Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel T6 handheld with a Canon 50 mm f1.8 lense. I also used a white bounce board covered in aluminum foil.Inspiration
I love photographs of macarons but have never tried one. I went to a local bakery and bough 4 macarons of 3 different flavors. I decided to try my hand at creating my own images of these tasty treats.Editing
Just minimal basic adjustments to highlights, shadows, saturation, and vibrance. In my camera bag
My Canon EOS Rebel T6, 50mm f1.8 lens, 18-55 mm f4.5 kit lens, 2 batteries, lens cleaner, lens hood, UV and polarizing filters, & a notebook.Feedback
Be patient with natural lighting. It took over 50 shots at multiple angles and 2 lens changes to get this shot. Keep props minimal so as not to take away from the macarons.
