Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my home in Los Angeles. The setup was on top of my kitchen counter next to the window.

Time

This photo was taken in the morning, one of my favorite images. I was ready to have a cup of tea and accidentally I poor hot water outside the cup. Between the reflection on the kitchen counter and the light coming from the window, I immediately saw a great shot in the making.

Lighting

I wanted to show a mysterious look and a vivd connection between the mug and the vapor from the hot water.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon D7,000 Nikon lens 24-120 mm 1.4 No other equipment was use.

Inspiration

I wanted to take a photo in inspiration of Hallowing, and the opportunity when the water was dropped on the kitchen counter, I just saw what I was looking for.

Editing

For this particular shot, I simply burned the edges of the photo to hide the tiles from the wall.

In my camera bag

In my photography bag I have a full frame Nikon D750, extra Nikon D7000 body, 2 batteries, a nikon 7000 flash, a Nikon lens 24-120 mm 1.4 a Nikon lens 70-300 and a tripod.

Feedback

For this particular shot, I waited until the natural light from the son coming from the window, hit the cup and the water right in the meddle. I took some shots from the left, from the right, and I from above, finally I was very please with the outcome of this shot.
