Location
Near the overseas Passenger Terminal on Sydney Harbour during the Vivid Light's festival. I just wanted a different perspective on the festival to the Opera House's display.Time
This would have been taken around 7.30 to 8.00 pm in Australia's winter & the light's of the festival were all on around Sydney Harbour.Lighting
I wanted to capture some movement in this photos & was lucky to get a motorist leaving the parking area on his bike, also using shutter speed of seconds allowed for the light trail.Equipment
Canon 60D, F/11, ISO 100 , 30 seconds, 28mm, no flash & on tripodInspiration
I had just taken several photos of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from this vantage point & when I turned around noticed for the first time that the buildings surrounding circular quay were also lit up for the festival & I was curious to see how a photo from this perspective would come out.Editing
I used Lightroom to do post-processing (but only the basic editing as I am not confident using post-processing to do complex editing)In my camera bag
Usually my two main lenses: 24-105, 24-70 Canon & my camera (now a Canon 5D IV), plus spare batteries, sometimes I also carry my smaller camera Canon EOS M3Feedback
Try to be patient and also look out beyond the square especially when photographing events such as the Vivid festival where all the action is around the changing light installations, it might also take perseverance to get the correct settings to get the photograph. Also a lot of luck!
