Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in East Huntington, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful snowy day, I couldn't resist going out to take a few photos. Work was canceled due to weather, so it was the perfect "snow day".

Time

This photo was taken on March 10th, around 11:00. I remember very well because I was looking forward to having lunch. I had skipped breakfast because I was so excited to get outside with all of the new snow from the night before.

Lighting

The lighting in this case was slightly difficult. As gorgeous as all of the snow was, it was also extremely bright. I tried quite a few spots with my tripod, but after about 15 minute, with frozen hands and most of my tripod covered in ice, I had an idea. I found a fence that was the perfect way to break the brightness.

Equipment

Shot on a Canon Rebel T6 with a tripod.

Inspiration

New snow and canceled work were the inspiration for this photo. It was like being a kid again, great day.

Editing

I didn't have to do much post processing with all of the beautiful snow in this picture. I did have to adjust the brightness to a lower level so the viewer is able to separate different points in this picture.

In my camera bag

I never leave home without my Canon Rebel T6. I always make sure to bring my basic 300mm lens and tripod as well. I have captured some of my best photos on the fly, I never want to miss a great moment of photography.

Feedback

Get outside, get outside, get outside! There are always unique moments to capture, no many what your financial capabilities or your location. Find the hidden places no ones knows about, yet everyone wants to see.
