Admittedly, taking candid photos of others is a past time for me. However, during a trip to Siem Reap, I couldn't shake the feeling of discomfort by the number of tourists walking up to young monks and almost intrusively taking their photos.
Retrospectively, what would have been more beneficial for me would have been to try to have a conversation with these Cambodians - to ask them about their lives and better understand their exposure and feelings towards all of us passerbys. At the time though, it felt a little like I was seeing "orange" for these youths and I only thought to snap a fleeting moment to remember later.
