Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photograph a few years ago now, deep in the Leicestershire countryside put near a village called 'Beeby'.Time
I took the photograph at about 3 in the afternoon on a summers day.Lighting
I waited for the natural light to give me the ambience I wanted in the shot, and the cloud formation offered changing light conditions as they passed over.Equipment
I shot this with a Panasonic DMC GX8 MFT camera, handheld.Inspiration
The rundown appearance of the fence in amongst natures growth inspired the whole thing.Editing
I post-process in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, amongst other software, and I love the processing as much as the photography, as it allows me to create the image I saw in my head when taking the original shot, as well as allowing me to draw the viewers eye as I decide. In my camera bag
My Panasonic DMC GX8 along with the following lenses, 12-60mm, 8-18mm, 25mm, 42.5mm, 100-300mm. I also carry a 'Lume Cube' LED light and flashguns as req.Feedback
Look for a focal point in common places, as you can find them everywhere, just as in the photograph above, then use the camera as one of the tools to help you create the finished image along with your post-processing workflow. Have a vision of what you want to end up with when you take the shot, and you will create more... More than anything else, enjoy the whole process and embrace exploration of what you can create.
