Location
This was taken at our local beach Wee Ganavan. It has always been a favourite place of mine. In the Sumner you can also watch Artic TernsTime
During our summer months we are very privileged to exceptional sunsets,(when it's not raining!) This particular photo was probably taken around 20:30-21:30.Lighting
I try to capture the essence of what I see without post processing. I have lots of trials and errors but eventually will be happy with one or two photos.Equipment
This photo would have been set up on my Canon 70d using either 17-40mm or 24-105mm lens. I always use tripod and cable release. I will try different settings but usually shoot at f/13-f/16Inspiration
The colours were constantly changing, deepening as the sun set. I loved the reflection this cast on the water.Editing
On this photo no....what I saw is what you see. I not to post process but sometimes my photos will need just a little tweek. In my camera bag
In my bag is Canon 70d, 50mm,24-105mm and 70-300mm. Depends what I am going to shoot too. If it's night photography I will have my Samyang 14mm lens and my 50mm lens. Sports Will be 100-400mm, 24-105mm and canon 6d and canon 70d. Spare batteries, lens cloth, trigger release cable and a couple of filters- usually grey grads.Feedback
Keep trying...never feel you have failed and remember there is always another day. If you have missed a stunning sunset there will always be another one another day.
