This photo was taken on an airfield in the south east of England.Time
It was around 5pm here if I recall correctly. I was with a friend whose job was based on the airfield.Lighting
We were driving around for a while as the sun went down, mainly looking at the old retired aircraft on the airfield. As we came around a corner, the light shining up from the water caught my eye.Equipment
Believe it or not, this photo was taken with my phone which was the only thing I had on me at the time. It was a Samsung Galaxy S SeriesInspiration
The light fell unexpectedly but perfectly for this picture. I have always been a fan of a good sunset picture. The colours are beautiful and the reflection just adds to the scene.Editing
I tweaked the saturation levels to really emphasise the sun coming through. In my camera bag
I’m a complete amateur when it comes to photography. I have a Nikon D3100 which I bought before taking a work trip to Kenya with the out-of-the box 18-55mm lens and a tamron 75-300mm lens which I thought would be perfect for the wildlife there.Feedback
I would love to give the perfect advice here but honestly, I was lucky with my timing. I spent a lot of time driving around the airfield before getting this. So probably, have friends with a lot of patience :)
