Location
I took this picture in a field about twenty minutes away from where we live.Time
It was around 730 at night- past my kids bedtime but it was an amazing warm gorgeous summer night and I had to take advantage of it :)Lighting
The sun was behind the girls- i was shooting towards the sun. Its my favorite kind of light to get.Equipment
I used my Canon 6D camera, and sigma Art 35mm lens.Inspiration
I love capturing the bond between my girls. They are best friends and I love to catch the joy and emotion that they have when they are together. I find sun as backlight always adds a little bit of interest to a picture. So with the sun so beautiful that night we just headed out to have fun and captured this shot.Editing
I converted it to black and white in post. I upped the contrast, and darkened the blacks a little bit.In my camera bag
I only ever have my sigma Art 35 mm on my camera. I used to have a canon 24-70 but I never used it so i recently sold it. I pack extra cards, and an extra battery. I travel pretty light :)Feedback
My biggest advice for photographing kids is to just let them be. To let them do their own thing and be there to capture it. I find kids so easy to shoot- they haven't been programmed to be posey. Just have them play and forget that you are there and the magic will happen :)
