Location
This photo was taken in Florence, Italy, at Piazza Michelangelo, while I was on holiday with a friend.Time
It was taken during the early evening.Lighting
I was really lucky that the weather was good: sky was clear, so the sun was able to bath my subjects in golden light.Equipment
I used a basic DSLR, a Nikon D3300. I also used a cheap tripod to keep the camera still.Inspiration
I knew how beautiful Florence was, and I had planned to do a take a photo like this the moment I had planned for the trip.Editing
Yes. As you might be able to tell, this is actually an HDR image. I took 5 shots of 1.0 EV intervals from each other and combined them with a plugin in Lightroom. In my camera bag
Besides my camera and kit lens, I also have a zoom (55 - 200) and a 35 prime, as well as a polarizer and an ND4 filter. I also have basic cleaning equipment like a blower and a duster.Feedback
If you are planning to take a city-scape like this, be sure to plan for time and place of shoot. Look at maps and look up travel guides for high vantage points that give you an unobstructed view of your subject. It's also good to know where the sun will be coming from whatever time it is with respect to your chosen vantage point and subject.
