This was such an unexpected moment, my puppy and I went for a walk up to see my mares filly it was his first time seeing her and they just connected it was such a special moment.Lighting
The light was pretty dismal it was a miserable rainy day so I had to capture light when the sun poked through the cloudsEquipment
50mmInspiration
Just seeing the love between the two. I have many more images of the pair on my face book page Liane brown photography. They have been shared on various sites and the video has over 20k views and sharesEditing
Yes I sharpened and de fogged, and added a bit of brightness in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I use a Nikon D7000 I use my 50mm a lot and 18-105.Feedback
If you have time move your subjects to where there is nothing cluttering the background. I like to crop in pretty close to capture the expressions and detail in their eyes , nose etc.I avoid going when there is too much sunshine to avoid all the shadows I like to shoot in the golden hour ( just before the sun begins to set)for great natural light. A low aperture can give a lovely bokeh effect.
