Long exposure will capture the light from the stars, the trick is to light the subject. Use a warm light source, one that does not have a concentrated beam, and just quickly light up the object.Equipment
Canon 600D, Tamron 18 - 250mm 3.5 lens, Tripod, Remote shutter release. Lightroom to merge the pictures.Inspiration
The quiver tree forest.Editing
Yes, this picture is made up from 3 - 4 pictures. Because of the lack of a dedicated wide angle lens or full frame camera, i had to take a series of pictures and merge them into the one you see.In my camera bag
Like i mentioned earlier on i only started to invest in gear after this shot was taken.Today i never leave the house without my Canon 600D, Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 17- 85 4-5.6, my favorite travel lens Tamron 18- 250 3.5-6.3 and my most recent add on Sigma 150-600 5-6.3. I also carry in my bag a tripos and a Nissin flash as well as extra memory cards. I have now started to look at filters, but still have a lot to learn.Feedback
Capturing the stars or the milky way is fun! Enjoy it, play around and exercises your technique to light up a subject in the night. It is the best feeling ever that moment you catch that beautiful "first" picture where everything is in crisp focus!
