I was living in Bulgaria at the time this photo was taken, it was my birthday and my partner had given me this flower picked from a bush on the Golf Course where we lived. It took pride of place on my coffee table in the living room.Time
It was late afternoon and the sun was shining through the window which caught the glass the flower was in perfectly.Lighting
I took many shots of this flower, as it is small I could position it in many places near to the window the sun was shining in from. This shot the glass was placed on my sofa of all places, I tried to get it with the sun reflecting off the glass which gave the shadowing effect, it took me quite a few shots to get the result I was looking for.Equipment
I didn't have a " camera" at the time so I used my then mobile phone camera, which was a Galaxy S3. No flash or any effects from the phone settings, just many, many shots to get the result I wanted.Inspiration
The sun was shining through the window throwing shadows from my Venetian blinds onto the sofa, I wanted a photo of the flower as it was significant of my birthday, but I didn't want just a snapshot so I placed the glass in the shadows of the blinds and started taking photos, like I mentioned earlier I took many shots, this one is obviously not in the shadow of the blinds but because of the shadowing on it, it was my favourite shot.Editing
I one word ..... NO ......In my camera bag
I now have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H400 which I have only just got so I am at the moment out and about practicing with it. I am a total beginner so I know it is going to take many, many shots to get the hang of this camera, especially as cameras nowadays are like mini computers!!!!Feedback
I don't think I am in a position to give advice as I am a beginner myself. Looking at all the photos on Viewbug has given me great inspiration to get out and about more with my camera. I personally try and look at things from a different angle to how they're normally seen but we will see as I get better with my camera. Reading views and tips from other photographers is also another good way of improving your skills.
