Location
In Miami Beach right outside of the Police Station on Washington AvenueTime
It was taken at about 2:30 or thereabouts.Lighting
Light is soft since the model is in open shade and beautiful light bounced all around off the white cement.Equipment
Nikon F5 film camera. Lens was a Nikkor 85mm 1.4 manual focus, Film used was Kodachrome 25 , No flash just available light I never tripod my camera since it limits my ability to move around freely and quicklyInspiration
Look at that face of Mel Dixon! Very sexy and yet classic beauty that my stylist and hair and makeup artists showed restraint by not overdoing her.Editing
The only thing I always did when I was shooting Kodachrome 25 is I would meter it at 50 asa and then have the lab push it in processing. Almost always I did however on this I know I didn't. When you pushed Kodachrome it warmed up everything including turning whites into pink and that is why I know I shot this straight. In my camera bag
2 Nikon Bodies usually my D300 and also D750 a Nikon 35-70 2.8 as well as 17-35 2.8 Sometimes I will take my Nikon 70-200 2.8 but it is rareFeedback
Understand how to zoom and shoot very open aperture. With this particular shot I was shooting at 2.0 and wracked out my 85mm lens and then with my own movement brought features in and out of focus. Experiment with autofocus off since the sensors rarely know what you are intending, haha. Hope this helps.
